The National Business Initiative (NBI) is seeking unemployed youth to be trained as Small Domestic Appliance Repairers, who will perform many of the same tasks that mechanics do. This would include appliance repairs and maintenance, handling tools, and assisting with cleaning job sites. 
This will be a 12-month job opportunity; 3 months will be integrated learning at a college, theoretical and practical, including online learning through the Installation Repairs & Maintenance (IRM) Training Application. 
The remaining 9 months will be the on-the-job training. This would entail being placed in a workplace within your residential area or college. From commercial buildings, businesses, to clients’ residences. The work will be conducted both outdoors and indoors while learning new skills. 

• Install, maintain, and repair appliances according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.  
• Diagnose problems with appliances and determine the best course of action for repair. 
• Use various tools and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform repairs. 
• Disassemble appliances, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble appliances in working order. 
• Test appliances to ensure proper function and safety before leaving a job site. 
• Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. 
• Educate customers on proper use and maintenance of appliances to prevent future issues. 
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, and supervisors. 
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technology and repair techniques for appliances. 
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies at all times.

• N3 Technical (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics) 
• N6 will be an added advantage
• Ability to pass a background check and medical screening.
