Programme Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Targets women and informal carpenters for skills development.
  • Provides woodworking training in tools, safety, joinery, machining, and finishing.
  • Produces high-demand furniture for home, office, and outdoor use.
  • Teaches business skills, costing, marketing, and contract bidding.
  • Supports collective production and shared income opportunities.
  • Aims to certify 50 participants and create sustainable micro-businesses.
  • Promotes job creation, affordable furniture, and waste reduction.
     
     
     

Requirements

Educational:

  • Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
  • Aged 18–35.
  • Lives in or near the community with strong local knowledge.
  • Interest in youth development work.
  • Interest in planning and running peer-based activities for young people.
  • Child safeguarding vetting required.
  • Smartphone required.
