Description

Programme Description:

Youth are trained and employed as community sports leaders and after-school coaches.  They engage learners (Grades 1-7) in primary schools and (Grades 8–12) in high schools in modified games, structured sports leagues, and wellness activities that promote healthy lifestyles and social cohesion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sport sessions in schools and HUBS.
  • Facilitate recreational modified games and health promotion campaigns.
  • Mentor learners in teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence.
  • Assist in organizing local sporting events and leagues.
  • Participate in capacity-building programmes when offered.

Requirements

Educational:

  • Min Grade 10 (required) or equivalent.

Experience and Skills:

  • Live in or near the site and have an in-depth understanding of the community.
  • Age between 18 and 35 (Required).
  • Interest in working in youth development programs.
  • Interest in planning and implementing peer-based activities for young people.
  • Child Safeguarding vetting.
  • Smartphone.
