• Initiating sporting activities for unemployed young people in communities.
• Organising games or other events at local parks/sports grounds.
• Employing young people to assist with coaching clinics and after-school sporting programmes.

Arts & Culture Entertainment

• Initiating recreational and cultural activities for young people in communities, such as drama groups and community choirs.
• Creating public memorials to the social history of a community, etc.

Education Support

• Support to schools, including teaching support and school nutrition/feeding support.
• Providing after-school support for learners – such as sport/recreational activities or providing homework support.

Food Security

• Creation / Maintenance of food gardens.
  Food preparation and serving to vulnerable members of the community

Community Works, Revitalization, and Greening programmes

• Creation of green spaces in communities.
• Maintenance of public facilities so that they are safe for young people to use – e.g., sports grounds, parks, community halls, etc.:
• Beautification of public spaces.
• Planting of trees to improve the environmental conditions in a community.
• Creating new public spaces that are consistent with conditions that protect communities from COVID-19.

• Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID or temporary ID.
• Must be unemployed.
• Not currently enrolled in full-time school or a learnership.
• Must not have participated in the NYS programme previously.
• Shortlisted candidates must be willing and able to provide proof of residence.
• Shortlisted candidates must have Proof of Bank account.
