    Programme description:

  • The programme provides opportunities for youth to develop their talents, leadership skills, creativity, discipline, and sense of civic responsibility while contributing positively to community development.
  • They will be engaged in sports, arts and culture activities which will help them promote personal development, social cohesion, and community engagement.
  • Through sports, youth are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles, teamwork, respect, and perseverance.
  • Arts activities, including music, dance, drama, visual arts, and creative writing, provide platforms for self-expression, innovation, and skills development.
  • Cultural programmes promote the preservation and celebration of local heritage, traditions, languages, and values, fostering national identity and unity among diverse communities.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Organizing community sports tournaments, leagues, and fitness campaigns.
  • Coaching and mentoring children and youth in various sporting disciplines.
    Conducting arts workshops, exhibitions, talent shows, and creative skills training.
  • Performing community theatre and educational dramas that raise awareness about social issues such as health, gender-based violence, substance abuse, and environmental conservation.
  • Promoting cultural festivals, heritage celebrations, and indigenous knowledge preservation initiatives.
  • Establishing youth clubs and recreational programmes that encourage positive social participation.
  • Supporting community outreach projects that use sports and arts as tools for social inclusion and conflict resolution.
  • Beautifying public spaces through murals, cultural displays, and community art projects.
  • Facilitating intercultural exchanges and dialogue to strengthen social cohesion and mutual understanding.

Requirements

Experience and Skills:

  • Live in or near the site and have an in-depth understanding of the community.
  • Age between 18 and 35 (Required).
  • Interest in working in youth development programs.
  • Interest in planning and implementing peer-based activities for young people.
  • Child Safeguarding vetting.
  • Smartphone.
  • Strong work ethic (professional).
